iPhone 17 Pro: Radical Design Changes and Camera Upgrades Coming in 2025

Apple’s Bold New Direction for iPhone 17 Pro Brings Pixel-Like Design with Enhanced Features

According to Apple rumors, the iPhone 17 Pro is shaping up to be one of Apple’s most distinctive designs yet. According to recent leaks, Apple appears to be taking inspiration from Google’s Pixel lineup while maintaining its premium identity.

The most noticeable change comes to the camera setup. Sources indicate Apple is adopting a camera visor design reminiscent of Google Pixel phones, though with an Apple-specific implementation.

This new camera arrangement places three cameras on the left side with the flash positioned separately on the right. The unique layout reportedly stems from Apple’s ongoing efforts to enhance camera capabilities.

Apple engineers carefully considered this redesign to ensure it wouldn’t hamper video capabilities. While initial concerns existed about potential barriers to video capture, current information suggests the final design overcomes these challenges.

Major Camera Upgrades Across the Lineup

Both standard iPhone 17 and Pro models will reportedly receive significant camera improvements. All models will feature 48MP main sensors, representing a major upgrade for the base models.

The front-facing camera also gets a substantial upgrade to 24MP, enabling sharper selfies and improved video calls. Apple is adding a 2x optical zoom feature to enhance photography flexibility.

Video capabilities receive special attention with the iPhone 17 Pro supporting 120fps recording. Additional video enhancements are expected, though complete details remain under wraps.

Premium Build with Practical Improvements

Unlike the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro models, the iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly abandon titanium in favor of an aluminum frame with glass panels. This design choice likely aims to balance durability with production costs.

The new iPhone will be approximately 5% thicker than its predecessors. This increased thickness accommodates a larger battery, addressing a common user request for improved battery life.

Display sizes are expected to remain consistent with previous generations, maintaining Apple’s established screen dimensions.

Advanced Internal Specifications

The iPhone 17 Pro will likely feature Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip paired with 12GB of RAM. This combination should deliver substantial performance improvements for demanding applications.

Another notable addition is a vapor chamber cooling system. This liquid-based cooling technology helps manage heat during intensive tasks, potentially improving sustained performance.

Reverse wireless charging finally makes its way to iPhone, allowing users to charge accessories like AirPods directly from their phone. This long-requested feature brings iPhone in line with capabilities already available on many Android devices.

While these details paint an exciting picture for the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple’s final design and specifications could still evolve before the official announcement expected later this year.
